This is great news, but the Kouw family is very cautious because they have heard this before with the other 2 tumors. So with a bit of reservation, we celebrate this great news and we thank the Lord for answers to prayer. Please pray now that God will give the doctors wisdom, guidance and direction to know how to best continue in this situation and pray also that God will give the Kouw family the peace and grace they need through this time.

Eugene had a biopsy done last week because they found a suspicious spot in his throat and also one in his stomach. Thankfully the results of the biopsy showed that these spots were just scar tissue. Praise God for this great news and pray that God will continue watch over Eugene in this time.

We thank the Lord that Kim Hossink has been experiencing some relief from the Lyme disease and the Anaplasma. Praise God that the medication is working and pray that God will continue to bring healing and health to Kim.

Please pray that the pain will soon subside, that Kim will be able to sleep at night, and that the treatments will begin to take affect soon. Pray also that God will give both Terry and Kim patience as the recovery period will be lengthy.

The doctors have run numerous tests, but have been unable to figure out why Winnie’s so short of breath and why fluid has built up around her heart. Please pray that God will give the doctors the wisdom that they need so that they can figure out why Winnie continues to have these problems and pray this medication Winnie is on will work to increase the strength of Winnie’s heart.

We thank the Lord for the birth of a healthy baby boy, Mason James Raak, born to Jason and Amber Raak on Monday evening, January 9 at 6:47 PM. Mason James came into this world weighing 8 pounds and 10 ounces and he is 21 inches long. Both mom and baby are doing well and are now home. Thank the Lord for the birth of a healthy baby boy and pray that God will continue to bless Jason, Amber, Mackenzie and Mason.

Please pray for Von Tubergan who is at home waiting for the tests results from the biopsy she had on Thursday to try to figure out why she has been retaining fluid. The results of that biopsy will be coming back in the next few days. Please pray that God will give the doctors the answer as to why Von has been retaining this fluid and pray that God will give Von and Karl the peace they need in this time.

Our Christian sympathy is expressed to Jeff and Cindy Potgeter and their family as they mourn the loss of Cindy’s mom, Christine Stark. The funeral was on Tuesday. Please pray that God will give His comfort to the Potgeter family in this time of loss and pray also that God will give Jeff Potgeter the strength he needs as he recovers from his recent back and neck surgery.

Our Christian sympathy is also expressed to Joe and Karen Nordyke as they mourn the loss of Karen’s sister, Ellen West, who passed away last Monday in New York. Pray that God will give His comfort to Joe and Karen and their family in this time of loss.

Our Christian sympathy is also expressed to the Binder Family, as they mourn the loss of their wife and mother, DeAnne Binder. DeAnne passed away on Saturday at the age of 49. The Binder boys all have gone through our Cadet program and one of the boys, William, is currently in our Cadet program. Please pray for the Binder Family as they go through this tragic loss.

Please pray for Joe Nordyke who found out he has labyrinthitis, which is an inflammation of the inner ear. Joe is at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids going through acute therapy to get rid of this inflammation. Pray that this stay in the hospital will take care of Joe’s inflammation and pray that God will continue to watch over Joe in this time.

Please continue to pray for Kim Hossink. In addition to the Lyme Disease Kim has, she has also been diagnosed with a second Tick born bacterial infection called Anaplasma, along with a vitamin D and B12 deficiency. This second infection has been complicating the treatment for the Lyme Disease and in itself is more critical to Kim’s health. Kim is also experiencing peripheral neuropathy and this has now moved all the way down to her feet and makes her very sensitive to touch. Please pray that the pain will soon subside, that Kim will be able to sleep at night, and that the treatments will begin to take affect soon. Pray also that God will give both Terry and Kim patience as the recovery period will be lengthy.

Please pray for Kaylee Kouw as she will be getting the results of her recent MRI today. This results should show how much tumor is left and exactly how big the tumor on the brain stem really is. Please pray that God will give the Kouw family the peace they need as they get the results today and pray that God will give them wisdom as to what steps, if any, they should now take.

Please pray for Hazel Kiekintveld as she goes in today for her second to last chemotherapy treatment. Pray that these treatments will keep any cancer from returning to Hazel.

We thank the Lord for the 65^th wedding anniversary that Bemis and Mary Poll will celebrate on Tuesday. Praise God for these many years of married life together and pray that God will continue to bless Bemis and Mary at Oak Crest Manor.

We thank the Lord for the 86^th birthday Ward Van Dyke will celebrate on Wednesday. Pray that God will bless Ward with a great day and may God continue to watch over Ward each and every day.

Please pray for Elaine Lucas’ dad, Marvin Brower, who is at Freedom Village Inn receiving rehabilitation after his stay in the hospital. The hope is that Marvin will receive the strength he needs so that soon he can have another stent put in his heart so that the blockage in his heart can be alleviated. Please pray that Marvin will gain the strength he needs at Freedom Village Inn.

Please pray for Arlene Rylaarsdam’s mom, Winnie Byma, who went back to the doctor last Tuesday because she was experiencing some shortness of breath. The doctors have run numerous tests, but have been unable to figure out why Winnie’s so short of breath and why fluid has built up around her heart. The doctors are going to try a low dose of medication for heart failure to try to see if that works. Please pray that God will give the doctors the wisdom that they need so that they can figure out why Winnie continues to have these problems and pray this medication Winnie is on will work to increase the strength of Winnie’s heart.
