Prayer updates for Monday, March 24, 2014

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today.

We praise the Lord for the 84th birthday that Marge Vork celebrates today.  We give thanks for the many years that God has given to Marge and pray for God to bless Marge with a wonderful birthday celebration.

Update: We praise the Lord for the good news that Brian Boerigter is doing well after having a small seizure in church yesterday morning and that Wayne and Lois were able to take him home where he could rest and recover.  We give thanks that God was with the Boerigters and that Brian did not suffer any injuries.  Pray for God to be with them as Brian continues to rest and recover this week.

Please pray for Herk Kapenga as he goes to the oncologist on Thursday for a check-up to review his platelet numbers.  Pray for God to be with Herk and Flora Mae this week and for the appointment to show there to be no concerns.

Please pray for Jeanne Quillen as she is having foot surgery on Tuesday to properly heal her foot that she broke years ago.  Pray for the surgery to go as planned and for the surgery to work to eliminate the pain and loss of balance that she has been experiencing.

Please pray for Jim Gaunce as he is having a cardioversion on Thursday to try to put his heart in rhythm.  Pray for God to grace Jim and Doris with strength in this time and for the cardioversion to work to put his heart in rhythm.

Please pray for the Domestic SERVE Team working this week in Defuniak Springs, Florida.  Pray for God to provide safe traveling mercies and for God to work through the team to show the love of Christ to those in need.

Prayer updates for Friday, March 21, 2014

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today.

We express our Christian Sympathies to Ashley Mulder in the loss of Deanna Smith, 48 year-old mother of one of Ashley’s close friends.  Pray for the hope of Christ to comfort and sustain Deanna’s husband, Joseph, and their two children, Darrin and Mandy, in this sad time of loss.

Please pray for John and Millie Janssens’ sister-in-law Sheryl Luth as she recovers from the back surgery she had on Thursday.  Pray for the Luth family to take good care for Sheryl in her time of need, and for Sheryl to make a quick and full recovery so that she can rejoin her husband Randy in the mission field in India.

Update: We praise the Lord that Sue De Weert, Joe and Karen Nordyke’s daughter, is doing well and may be coming home from the Mayo Clinic soon.  We give thanks to God that the antibiotics seem to be clearing up the infection and for the news that Sue is now walking on her own for the first time in weeks.  Please pray for God to be with Sue as she continues to recover so that she might be able to return home in a few days and make a complete recovery.

We praise the Lord for successful surgery that Janet Wenger endured on Tuesday to correct the carpel tunnel syndrome in both of her hands.  Pray for patience as she has limited use of her hands for a few weeks and for the pain to subside quickly so that she can make a full recovery.

Please pray for the Domestic SERVE Team as they leave today for a week of service to Defuniak, Florida.  Pray for God to provide safe traveling mercies as they depart and for God to work through the team to show the love of Christ to those in need.

We express our Christian Sympathies to Ashley Mulder in the loss of Deanna Smith, 48 year-old mother of one of Ashley’s close friends.  Pray for the hope of Christ to comfort and sustain Deanna’s husband, Joseph, and their two children, Darrin and Mandy, in this sad time of loss.

Please pray for John and Millie Janssens’ sister-in-law Sheryl Luth as she endues back surgery this morning.  Pray for the surgery to go as planned and for the Luth family to take good care for Sheryl in her time of need.  Pray also for Sheryl to make a quick and full recovery so that she can rejoin her husband Randy in the mission field in India.

Please pray for Joe and Karen Nordyke’s daughter, Sue De Weert, as she remains at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  Pray for Sue as she is on antibiotics to treat an abdominal infection but also as she continues to have other medical complications related to her colon.  Pray for God’s presence to be with Sue in this difficult time and for the doctors to find answers soon so that she can begin to recover.

Please pray for Joe and Karen Nordyke’s daughter, Sue De Weert, as she is experiencing several complications related to a recent colon surgery and as she was transferred on Friday to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  Pray for God to bring healing to Sue’s body and for God’s presence to be with her family as she remains in a serious condition.

Please pray for Janet Wenger as she endures carpel tunnel surgery on Tuesday in both of her hands to correct her carpel tunnel syndrome.  Pray for God’s presence to be with Janet and for the surgery to go as planned so that she can make a quick and full recovery.

Prayer updates for Friday, March 14, 2014

Happy anniversary Noordeloos Church!  We praise the Lord for the 157 Years of Ministry that we celebrate at Noordeloos CRC today!  We thank God for the rich history of this church and for His faithfulness to our congregation over the years.  We joyfully pray for God’s continued blessing upon us for the many years of ministry to come.

Please pray for Ade Molendyk as he received his monthly IVIG infusion on Monday.  Pray for the side-effects of the infusion to be minimal and for God’s sustaining grace to be with Ade as he continues to battle his leukemia.

We praise the Lord for the good news that Gus and Jan Vander Veen’s son, Eric Vander Veen, received that the mass on his lung is a fungal infection and is not cancerous.  We celebrate this good news with the Vander Veen family!  Pray for Eric as he endures treatment to cure this infection and for Eric to make a full and complete recovery.

Please pray for Dale Nienhuis as he began radiation treatments yesterday for his prostate cancer.  Pray for God to strengthen and sustain Dale through treatments and for God’s presence to be with Dale, Marla, and the Nienhuis family as they walk through this difficult season of life together.

We praise the Lord for the successful hysterectomy surgery that Joan Kok, Sandy Avink’s sister, endured on Wednesday and for the news that the doctors believe they were able to remove all of the cancer.  Pray for God to be with Joan as she waits for biopsy results and pray for the results to show that there is no more cancer.

Please pray for Beth Wallinga, daughter of Ken and Rose Swets, as she endures chemotherapy and radiation treatment for her cancer.  Pray for God to be with Beth her family in this time of need.

On Sunday we gather again for worship.  Pastor Jonathan will lead us in the morning service as we continue in our Lenten series with the message titled A Cursed Tree and a Dirty Temple based on Mark 11:12-33.  In the morning we also have the privilege of commissioning our Domestic SERVE team as they prepare to go to Defuniak Springs, Florida next week.  Pastor Matt will lead us in the evening service as we celebrate GEMS Sunday with the message Who’s the Greatest? based on John 3:22-30.  Pray for God to meet us in His Word and fill us with His presence as we worship together this Sunday.

We praise the Lord for the news that the lung biopsy of Eric Vander Veen showed that the suspicious growth was caused by the same fungus for which he had previously been treated.  Now that they know what it is we pray for an effective treatment so that Eric can soon make a full recovery.

Please pray for Dale Nienhuis as he begins radiation treatments today for his prostate cancer.  Pray for God to strengthen and sustain Dale through treatments and for God’s presence to be with Dale, Marla, and the Nienhuis family as they walk through this difficult season of life together.
