Prayer updates for Monday, October 27, 2014

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today.

Update: Please pray for Elly De Jonge’s sister, Marilyn Staat, as she endures a bone biopsy today to see if her uterine cancer has spread to the bone. Pray for a good result from the biopsy so that Marilyn can proceed with the surgery scheduled on Thursday to remove the uterine cancer. Pray for God’s comforting presence to be with Marilynn this week as she endures these procedures and for the surgery to be successful in removing the cancer.

We praise the Lord for the 83rd birthday that Gert Morren will celebrate on Saturday. We give thanks to the Lord for His faithfulness and pray for God to bless Gert on her special day.

We praise the Lord for the successful ACL repair surgery that Alex Steenwyk endured on Wednesday. Pray for God to bless Alex with a full and speedy recovery.

We praise the Lord for a great start to Kid’s Life Bible Club. Pray for God to be with the volunteers as they get to know the children and as they work to make Kid’s Life a meaningful time for each child. Pray for God to use this ministry to teach children about God’s incredible love for them.

Please pray for the Church (Trunk) Treats event that will take place on Friday evening from 5:30-7:00 PM. Pray for it to be a safe and fun event for the children in the community, and for the love of Christ to be displayed through the volunteers that will be helping out on Friday.

Please for the Deacons Meeting that will take place tonight. Pray for God to be with our Deacons as they work to manage the church budget, take care of the church grounds, and meet benevolent needs in the congregation.

We give our thanksgiving to the Lord for providing us with another Harvest Season. We praise the Lord for safety and provision, and give our thanks to the Lord for graciously caring for our daily needs.

Prayer updates for Wednesday, October 22, 2014

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today.

We praise the Lord for 65th anniversary that Gerald and Louise Ortman celebrated on Monday. We give thanks for the many wonderful years that God has blessed Gerald and Louise with and we pray for many more good years to come.

Please pray for Ade Molendyk as he endured his monthly IVIG infusion on Monday to boost his immune system. Pray for God to be with Ade this week and for the treatment to be effective in keeping Ade healthy.

Please pray for Jim Gaunce as he learned last week that there still is a cancerous mass on his bladder and an enlarged lymph gland that will need to be treated with chemotherapy and radiation. Pray for God to be with Jim and Doris as they deal with this discouraging news and for God to give Jim the strength he needs to endure his treatment plan.

Please pray for Lena Hanegraaff as she has moved to assisted living at Oak Crest in Holland. Pray for God’s comforting presence to be with Lena as she adjusts to her new surroundings.

Update: We praise the Lord for the good report from Gus Vander Veen that Wednesday’s heart catheterization showed no significant concerns with Gus’s heart and that no further procedures will be needed. Pray for God to bless Gus with continued good health.

We praise the Lord for the 64 years of marriage that Gord and Marge Vork celebrated on Sunday.  We give thanks for the love that they share and pray for God to bless them with a special day.

Please pray for Jim Gaunce as he received some discouraging news this week that there is a mass remaining on his bladder as well as an enlarged lymph gland, which means that he will need to continue chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Pray for God to be with Jim and Doris in this time and for God to supply the emotional, spiritual, and physical strength they need to endure ongoing treatment for Jim’s bladder cancer.

Please pray for Lena Hanegraaff as she has moved to assisted living at Oak Crest in Holland. Pray for God’s comforting presence to be with Lena as she adjusts to her new surroundings.

Update: Please pray for Jim Gaunce as he received some discouraging news this week that there is a mass remaining on his bladder as well as an enlarged lymph gland, which means that he will need to continue chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Pray for God to be with Jim and Doris in this time and for God to supply the emotional, spiritual, and physical strength they need to endure ongoing treatment for Jim’s bladder cancer.

We express our Christian Sympathies to Larry and Betty Petroelje and family in the passing of Betty’s mother, Henrietta Kapenga, who went home to be with the Lord early Sunday morning.  Pray for God’s comforting presence to be with Larry and Betty, Chris and Deb Lamer, Herk and Flora Mae Kapenga and their family in this time of loss.  Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Lakeshore Memorial Services.  Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Thursday at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St, Holland, MI 49424.

We express our Christian Sympathies to Elmer Van Der Kolk in the passing of his sister, Dorothy Kapenga, who went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 3.  Pray for God to be with Elmer and his family as they mourn the loss of a sister and friend.

We praise the Lord for the 59 years of marriage that Dutch and Iris Meinema celebrated on Tuesday.  We give thanks for the many years that Dutch and Iris have shared together and we pray for God to bless them with many more good years to come.

Update:  We praise the Lord for the news that Junior Nyboer is doing well after enduring a procedure last Friday to implant a pacemaker and defibrillator.  Pray for God to be with Junior as he recovers and for the pacemaker to be effective in regulating Junior’s heart so that his physical strength can be renewed.

Please pray for Kaylee Kouw as she awaits the results of the MRI she endured on Monday.  Pray for the results to show that there are no new growths and for God’s peace to be with Kaylee and the Kouw family this week.

Please pray for Lorraine Mokma as her knee replacement surgery was postponed due to an infection.   Pray for God to be with Lorraine as she waits for the surgery to be rescheduled and for the infection to clear up.

Prayer updates for Thursday, October 2, 2014

We praise the Lord for the 50th wedding anniversary that Jim and Jan Holstege celebrate today.  We give thanks for the love that they share and we pray for God to bless them as they celebrate this week.

Update: Please pray for Kaylee Kouw as she endures an MRI on Monday, October 6, in order to check the status of the growths in her brain. Pray for the results to show that there are no new growths and for God’s peace to be with Kaylee and the Kouw family on Tuesday.

We praise the Lord for the news that Lena Hanegraaff has been released from Heritage Nursing Home and has returned home and for the news that Lillian Arendsen was released from TenderCare on Monday and has also returned home.  Pray for God to be with Lena and Lillian as they adjust to being in their homes again and for God to continue to strengthen them after the health struggles they have been enduring for the past few weeks.

Please pray for Junior Nyboer as he meets with the doctor on Friday to determine his potential need for a cardiac defibrillator to help regulate his heart, which they may implant at the appointment this week.  Pray for God’s peace to be with Junior this week and for the procedure, if needed, to go as planned.

Please pray for Lorraine Mokma as today’s knee replacement surgery was postponed due to an infection.   Pray for God to be with Lorraine as she waits for the surgery to be rescheduled and for the infection to clear up so that she can have the surgery on her knee.
