Prayer updates for Thursday, October 2, 2014

We praise the Lord for the 50th wedding anniversary that Jim and Jan Holstege celebrate today.  We give thanks for the love that they share and we pray for God to bless them as they celebrate this week.

Update: Please pray for Kaylee Kouw as she endures an MRI on Monday, October 6, in order to check the status of the growths in her brain. Pray for the results to show that there are no new growths and for God’s peace to be with Kaylee and the Kouw family on Tuesday.

We praise the Lord for the news that Lena Hanegraaff has been released from Heritage Nursing Home and has returned home and for the news that Lillian Arendsen was released from TenderCare on Monday and has also returned home.  Pray for God to be with Lena and Lillian as they adjust to being in their homes again and for God to continue to strengthen them after the health struggles they have been enduring for the past few weeks.

Please pray for Junior Nyboer as he meets with the doctor on Friday to determine his potential need for a cardiac defibrillator to help regulate his heart, which they may implant at the appointment this week.  Pray for God’s peace to be with Junior this week and for the procedure, if needed, to go as planned.

Please pray for Lorraine Mokma as today’s knee replacement surgery was postponed due to an infection.   Pray for God to be with Lorraine as she waits for the surgery to be rescheduled and for the infection to clear up so that she can have the surgery on her knee.

Update:  Please pray for Family Night as it begins tonight.  Pray for God to be with all of the volunteers and leaders who will be serving in various ways this year.  Pray for Family Night to be a time where we can grow in our love for God and in our love for each other.

We praise the Lord for 81st birthday that Wilma Martinie celebrated on Sunday.  We give thanks to the Lord for the many good years that God has given to Wilma and pray for God to bless Wilma with a wonderful birthday celebration.

We praise the Lord for the 52nd wedding anniversary that Don and Marcia Vander Zwaag celebrated on Sunday and for the 61st wedding anniversary that Gerald and Wilma Martinie celebrated on Wednesday.  We give thanks to the Lord for the love that God has given to Don and Marcia and Gerald and Wilma and pray for God to bless them with a special day.

We praise the Lord for joining in marriage of Kody and Brooke Bosman last Friday.  Pray for God to bless Kody and Brooke as they begin their married lives together as husband and wife.

Please pray for Janet Wenger as she has been dealing with pain in her joints and is now being tested for fybromyalgia.  Pray for God to be with Janet and her family as they wait for the test results and pray for the doctors to be able to provide a treatment plan to help manage Janet’s pain.

We praise the Lord for the wedding of Kody and Brooke Bosman which took place on Friday.  Pray for God to bless Kody and Brooke as they begin their married lives together as husband and wife.

Please pray for Janet Wenger as she has been dealing with pain in her joints and is now being tested for fybromyalgia.  Pray for God to be with Janet and her family as they wait for the test results and pray for the doctors to be able to provide a treatment plan to help manage Janet’s pain.

Please pray for the Council Meeting that will take place tonight at 7 PM.  Pray for God to be with our Pastors, Elders, and Deacons as they meet and for the love of Christ to be their motivation in their leadership at Noordeloos Church.

We praise the Lord for Kody Bosman and Brooke Van Noord as they prepare for their wedding on Friday.  Pray for God to be with Kody and Brooke this week as they make final preparations and for their wedding day to be filled with joyful celebration.

Update: Please pray for Janet Wenger as she has been dealing with some ongoing health concerns and is now being tested for fybromyalgia.  Pray for God to be with Janet and her family as they wait for a specific diagnosis so that they can find the right treatment for the pain.  Pray for God’s presence to bring peace to the Wenger family in this difficult season of life.

Update: We praise the Lord for the news Ade Molendyk shares that the nodule in his lungs has decreased in size and so he did not undergo the scheduled biopsy yesterday as planned.  Pray for the nodule to continue to shrink on its own and for God to give peace to the Molendyk in this time of waiting.

Please pray for Bea Molendyk as she has been struggling to fight off an infection that has developed around her knee after the knee replacement surgery she endured last month.  Pray for God to be with Bea and for the medication to clear up the infection so that she can make a full recovery.

Please pray for Ward Van Dyke as he was transferred to Providence for continued care after a stay in the hospital for some heart issues.  Pray for God to be with Ward as he recovers and for Ward to receive the continued care that he needs.

Please pray for Lena Hanegraaff as she at Heritage Nursing Community enduring physical therapy after taking fall and injuring her hip.  Pray for God be with Lena and for the pain in her hip to subside quickly so that she can make a full recovery.

Please pray for Pat DeVries, close friend of Sharon Machiela, as she was diagnosed with a form of bone cancer.  Pray the peace of God to be with Pat and her husband, Rev. Michael DeVries, and for God to bring Pat healing and hope in this difficult time.

We praise the Lord for the 52 years of marriage that Ken and Sharon Zeinstra will celebrate on Saturday.  We give thanks for the love that they share and we pray for God to bless them with many more happy years.

We praise the Lord for the news that Lillian Arendsen is doing well and has been transferred to Tendercare for rehabilitation after being in the hospital with pneumonia.  Pray for God to be with Lillian as she recovers and receives the care she needs.

We praise the Lord for the news that Ken and Rose Swets share that their daughter, Beth Wallinga, received a good report indicating that the tumor and lesions on her brain are gone.  Pray for God to strengthen Beth as she continues to fight the cancer and for the chemotherapy to be effective in treating the cancer that remains in her body.

Please pray for Steve and Mary Scott as they prepare for a memorial service in Kalamazoo on Saturday for Steve’s daughter, Sue, who tragically ended her own life in July.  Pray for God’s comforting presence to be with the family and friends as they gather on Saturday and for God to bring healing and hope in the midst of this difficult time of loss.

Please pray for Lena Hanegraaff as she injured her hip after taking a fall last week and as a result is dealing with some significant pain.  Pray for God to be with Lena as she receives care at the Heritage Nursing Community and for the pain in her hip to subside quickly so that she can make a full recovery.

We praise the Lord for the news that Wyatt Hamstra, Jack and Dawn Redder’s grandson, did not need eye surgery this week as it appears that his retina and macula has not fully detached.  Pray for Wyatt’s retina to reattach itself so that he will not need to endure another surgery.  Pray for God’s presence to be with Sean, Kateylnn, and their families as they wait to see  if Wyatt’s left eye will correct itself.

Update: We praise the Lord for the news that Lillian Arendsen is doing well and has been transferred to Tendercare for rehabilitation after being in the hospital with pneumonia.  Pray for God to be with Lillian as she recovers and receives the care she needs.
