Prayer updates for Friday, November 28, 2014

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today.

We praise the Lord for the 89th birthday that Tena Vande Zande celebrated on Sunday. We give thanks for God’s faithful provision in Tena’s life and we pray for Tena to be blessed by the love of her family this week.

Update: We celebrate with the Nagelkerk family in the birth a healthy baby girl to Lee and Nina Nagelkerk, Charlotte Rose Nagelkerk (5 lbs 12 oz and 18 in), born on Thanksgiving morning. We praise the Lord for a healthy and safe delivery for both mom and baby.  We pray for God to be with Lee, Nina, and Charlotte as Lee endures the time away from his family while deployed overseas.

Please pray for Elly De Jonge’s sister, Marilynn Staat, as she endured leg surgery on Wednesday at the Mayo Clinic to strengthen the bone that has been weakened by the bone cancer. Pray for Marilynn as she will remain at Mayo for at least another week to recover, meet with other specialists, and possibly endure another surgery next week Friday for the uterine cancer.   Pray for God to strengthen and sustain Marilynn and her family in this difficult time.

We praise the Lord for the safe return of Mike and Lori Brower from their visit to Children of the Promise orphanage in Haiti. We give thanks for the time that they were able to spend at the orphanage with their adoptive son. Pray for God to be with Mike and Lori as they patiently wait for the next step in the adoption process.

Please pray for Gord Barendse as he has been diagnosed with a form of leukemia. Pray for Gord to receive the care that he needs and for the doctors to find the right medicines to treat Gord’s cancer. Pray for God’s comforting presence to be with Gord, Marge, and their family in this difficult time.

Please pray for Bob and Tena Vande Zande as they have both moved to nursing homes, Bob to Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Grand Rapids and Tena to Ely Manor Nursing Home in Allegan. Pray for God to be with Bob and Tena as they adjust to their new surroundings and for Bob to receive the care he needs to recover from his hip surgery.

Please pray for safe traveling and good health this Thanksgiving Weekend. Pray that God will remind us of the many things we have to be thankful for and that our thanksgiving will be genuine and sincere.

We praise the Lord for the safe return of Mike and Lori Brower from their visit to Children of the Promise orphanage in Haiti. We give thanks for the time that they were able to spend at the orphanage with their adoptive son. Pray for God to be with Mike and Lori as they patiently wait for the next step in the adoption process.

Pray for Gord to receive the care that he needs and for the doctors to find the right medicines to treat Gord’s cancer. Pray for God’s comforting presence to be with Gord, Marge, and their family in this difficult time.

Prayer updates for Wednesday, November 19, 2014

We praise the Lord for the 59th anniversary that Cal and Em Weener will celebrate on Saturday. We give thanks for the many wonderful years that God has given to Cal and Em and pray for God to bless them with many more good years to come.

Update: We praise the Lord for the news that Lorraine Mokma shares that the knee replacement surgery she endured yesterday went well.  Pray for God to be with Lorraine as she remains at Holland Hospital for recovery and physical therapy for a couple more days and for God to grant her a speedy recovery.

Update: We praise the Lord for the news that Bob Vande Zande has been released from the hospital and that Bob and Tena have moved to Pilgrim Manor in Grand Rapids so that Bob can continue to recover from the hip surgery he endured over a week ago. Pray for God to be with Bob and Tena as they adjust to their new surroundings and for Bob to receive the care he needs.

Please pray for Janet Wenger as she was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Pray for Janet’s doctor to find the right treatment options in order to best manage the chronic pain. Pray for God to be with Janet and her family as they adjust to the reality of this diagnosis.

Please pray for Len Ericks as he waits for the results from a scan of the esophagus he endured to determine the cause of a blockage in his throat. Pray for God to be with Len as he waits for the results and for the tests to reveal the cause of his symptoms.

Please pray for our farmers as they are enduring an early winter.  Pray for the weather to warm up to melt the snow that is covering their crops so that they can complete the harvest before the winter settles in, and pray that this year’s harvest will be sufficient to provide for the needs of our farmers and this community.

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today.

We express our Christian Sympathies to Gerrit and Joanne Kortman and John and Arlene Kortman in the passing their brother, Henry Kortman, who went home to be with the Lord early this morning. Pray for God’s comforting presence to be with the Kortman family in this sad time of loss. Visitation will held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 15th followed by a Memorial service at 2 p.m. , both at Faith United Reformed Church, 8270 120th Ave, West Olive, MI.

We give thanks to God as this week we remember our Veterans who have served and sacrificed this country. We thank God for those who have served our country in the past and pray for the protection of those among us who are currently serving in the military. Pray for God to be with Lee Nagelkerk as he is serves with the U.S. Marines and Josh Scholtens as he serves with the U.S. Navy.

Please pray for Bob Vande Zande as he recovers from hip surgery at Spectrum Hospital after taking a fall this weekend. Pray for Bob to receive the care he needs so that his body can heal and make a full recovery. Pray also for God’s comforting presence to surround Bob and Tena and their family in this time of need.

Update: We praise the Lord for the successful surgery that Claire DeWitt, Jason and Sara DeWitt’s three-month old daughter, endured on Wednesday to correct a condition that causes her eyelids to droop. We give thanks that Claire is doing well and pray for a speedy recovery.

Update: Please pray for Lorraine Mokma as Thursday’s knee replacement surgery was postponed until next week Tuesday. Pray for God to be with Lorraine as she waits for a her new surgery date and for the doctors to clear her for surgery on Tuesday.
