Prayer updates for Monday, August 11, 2014

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today. 

We praise the Lord for the 93rd birthday that Henrietta Kapenga will celebrate on Wednesday.  We give thanks for the many years that God has blessed Henrietta with and pray for a wonderful celebration this week.

Update: We praise the Lord for the rain that we received this morning as it has been needed for the watering of local crops.  Please pray for God to be with our Farmers as they diligently labor in the fields.  Pray for God to provide them with sufficient rain in order to raise a bountiful harvest and provide food for our nourishment and enjoyment.

We praise the Lord for the news that Jim Gaunce is doing well after the quadruple bypass he endured on Thursday.  Pray for God to strengthen Jim so that he can continue the treatment he needs for his bladder cancer.  Pray for God’s presence to be with Jim and Doris as he struggles with his ongoing health concerns.

We praise the Lord that Val Avink has returned safely to Haiti.  We give thanks for the time that Val was able to spend with us when she was home!  Pray for God to be with Val as she prepares for the next season of ministry at Children of the Promise in Haiti. 

Please pray for Kim Zeinstra as she returns on Tuesday from her mission trip to Singapore.  Pray for safe travels and good health on the return home.  Pray for this mission experience to deepen Kim’s love for Christ and give her an ongoing passion to serve Him.

Prayer updates for Friday, August 8, 2014

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today.

We express our Christian Sympathies to Staci Visser as she mourns the loss of her grandfather, Jim Botbyl, who passed away on Monday.  Pray for God to comfort Staci and her family in this sad time of loss.

Update: We praise the Lord for the successful quadruple bypass surgery that Jim Gaunce endured yesterday. Pray for God’s healing touch to be upon Jim as he recovers and for the surgery to bring significant improvement to Jim’s health.

Update: Please pray for Kim Hossink as she was unable to complete her chemotherapy treatment on Wednesday due to a reaction to the medicine.  Pray for the doctors to find the right kind of medication for Kim so that she can get the treatments she needs.

Update: Please pray for Val Avink as she flies back to Haiti today. Pray for safe travels and continued health and for God to give Val the strength and encouragement she needs for another season of ministry in Haiti.

We praise the Lord for the news that baby Wyatt Hamstra, Jack and Dawn Redder’s grandson, has finally be released from the hospital and has gone home to be with his parents. We praise the Lord for the many answers to prayer over the past few months and for the good news that Wyatt is doing very well. Pray for God to be with Wyatt and his parents, Sean and Katelyn, and for continued growth and health.

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today.

Update:  We express our Christian Sympathies to Staci Visser as she mourns the loss of her grandfather, Jim Botbyl, who passed away on Monday.  Pray for God to be with Staci as she travels to Mississippi to be with her family and to prepare for a funeral service.  Pray for God to comfort Staci and her family in this sad time of loss.

Update: Please pray for Jim Gaunce as he endures bypass surgery on Thursday morning to clear the blockages in his heart. We praise the Lord for his platelet count coming back up so that the doctors can proceed with the surgery. Pray for the surgery to go as planned and for God’s comforting presence to be with Jim and Doris in this anxious time.

Please pray for Kim Hossink as today she endures her first chemotherapy treatment for her breast cancer. Pray for God to give Kim the strength she needs and for the treatments to work to eliminate her cancer.

Update: Please pray for Kim Hossink as she prepares to endure her first chemotherapy treatment on Wednesday for her breast cancer. Pray for God to give Kim the strength she needs and for the treatments to work to eliminate her cancer.

Please pray for Kim Hossink as she prepares to endure chemotherapy and radiation treatments to treat the breast cancer that she has. (Kim will have chemo treatments every other week for 16 weeks followed by an additional 12 weekly chemotherapy treatments, and then radiation treatments 5 days a week for 6 weeks). Pray for God to give Kim the strength she needs and for the treatments to work to eliminate her cancer.

Please pray for the Elders Meeting that will take place tonight. Pray for God to be with our Pastors and Elders as they seek God’s direction for Noordeloos Church.

Prayer updates for Wednesday, July 30, 2014

We praise the Lord for the 65th wedding anniversary that Bob and Tena Vande Zande celebrate today. We give thanks for the many years God has given them and pray for God to bless them with a joyful celebration this week.

Update: We praise the Lord for the news that Keana Janssens is doing well after her nasal surgery yesterday. Pray for continued healing as she recovers and for the pain to subside quickly.

Update: We praise the Lord for the news that the cornea transplant that Amanda Bouwkamp endured on Tuesday went very well. Pray for Amanda as she recovers and as she waits to see if the transplant was successful in restoring her vision.

Please pray for Carson Conklin, Karen Nowak’s 6 year old great-nephew, as he is in Pediatric ICU after a lawnmower accident. We praise the Lord for the news that the doctors have been able to save Carson’s arm so far but please continue to pray for healing as there has been much damage to his arm. Pray for God’s comforting presence to be with Carson and his parents, Chad and Dana, in this difficult time.

Please pray for Jim Gaunce as his bypass surgery has been postponed due to low platelet levels, which is a side effect of the chemotherapy. Pray for the platelet count to come back up so that Jim can have the heart surgery he needs to open the blockages in his heart. Pray for God’s protection and care for Jim and Doris in this difficult time of waiting.

Update: Please pray for Keana Janssens as she endures a minor nasal surgery this morning to correct some breathing difficulties she has been experiencing. Pray for God to comfort Keana with His presence and for the surgery to go as planned so that she can make a speedy recovery.

Please pray for Carson Conklin, Karen Nowak’s 6 year old great-nephew, as he is in Pediatric ICU after a lawnmower accident. We praise the Lord for the news that the doctors have been able to save Carson’s arm so far but please continue to pray for healing as there has been much damage to his arm. Pray for God’s comforting presence to be with Carson and his parents, Chad and Dana, in this difficult time.

Update: Please pray for Carson Conklin, Karen Nowak’s 6 year old great-nephew, as he is in Pediatric ICU after a lawnmower accident and as the doctors strenuously work to save his arm. Pray for God’s presence to be with Carson and his parents, Chad and Dana, in this difficult time and for God’s healing hands to be with the doctors in ICU as they care for Carson.

Update: Please pray for Jim Gaunce as he was transferred on Thursday to the Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids. Pray for Jim as it was determined that he has some major blockages in his heart and as the doctors try to determine if Jim will have to undergo a heart surgery. Pray for God’s comforting presence and strength to be with Doris as she continues to care for Jim through his ongoing health concerns.

We celebrate with Brent and Amy Wallenburg in the birth of a healthy baby boy on Thursday, Jonathan Ryan Wallenburg (7 lbs 12 oz and 19 in). We praise God for his safe arrival and that mom and baby are doing well. Pray for God to be with the Wallenburgs in this joyful time.

We celebrate with Jason and Sara DeWitt in the birth a healthy baby girl, Claire Jolynn DeWitt (8 lbs 7 oz and 21 in), born on Wednesday. We praise the Lord for a healthy and safe delivery for both mom and baby. Pray for God to bless Jason and Sara as they enjoy the gift of new life.

Update: We celebrate with Brent and Amy Wallenburg in the birth of a healthy baby boy this morning, Jonathan Ryan Wallenburg (7 lbs 12 oz and 19 in). We praise God for his safe arrival and that mom and baby are doing well. Pray for God to be with the Wallenburgs in this joyful time.

Update: We celebrate with Jason and Sara DeWitt in the birth a healthy baby girl, Claire Jolynn DeWitt (8 lbs 7 oz and 21 in), born on Wednesday. We praise the Lord for a healthy and safe delivery for both mom and baby. Pray for God to bless Jason and Sara as they enjoy the gift of new life.

Update: Please pray for Jim Gaunce as he was admitted to Holland Hospital on Wednesday after suffering a cardiac arrest. We give thanks to God for sparing Jim’s life and pray for God to be with Jim as he recovers.
