Prayer updates for Tuesday, August 23, 2016

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

Update: We praise the Lord for the good news that Kathryn Zeinstra is doing well after enduring a final follow-up procedure to the successful cancer surgery she had in the Spring. Pray for Kathryn to remain free of infections so that she can make a speedy and complete recovery.

We express our Christian Sympathies to the Van Der Kolk Family in the passing of Elmer Van Der Kolk, who went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 14th. Pray for the comfort and hope of Christ to be with Elmer’s family and friends as they mourn his loss and as they rejoice that Elmer is now at home with his Lord and Savior.

We praise the Lord for the birthday that Arlene Kortman will celebrate on Wednesday and the birthday that Lillian Arendsen will celebrate on Friday. We praise the Lord for the many years he has given both to Arlene and to Lillian and we pray for God to bless them as they celebrate their special days this week.

We praise the Lord for the news that the surgery Ruth Beach endured last Monday went well and that they were able to break up the kidney stone. Pray for God’s healing grace to be with Ruth so that the pain will subside quickly and she can make a full recovery.

Update:  Please pray for Kevin Mokma and his children Megan, Braden, Keagan, and Addison Mokma as they left left on Monday for Haiti and will return to Children of the Promise today. Pray for safe travels and for a smooth transition back to life in Haiti as Kevin and Sarah continue their work as house parents at Children of the Promise. Pray for God to strengthen the Mokmas with his love and for the adoptions they are overseeing to move quickly toward completion.

Please pray for our College Students as they will be heading off to college over the next few weeks, and especially for those who are just beginning their college career. Pray for God to use this time in our students’ lives to deepen their faith in Jesus. Pray for God to surround them with many Christian friends and a church community where they can find support and encouragement while away from home.
