Prayer updates for Friday, September 8, 2017

Announcement:  On Saturday (tomorrow), we will be hosting an Electronics and Recycling Event from 8:00-12:00PM.  We can always use more helpers, so even if you did not sign-up, please come and help unload and sort.  If you have metal and/or electronics that have been collecting dust and you need to clear out, we would love to take it off your hands for recycling.  Proceeds from the event will go to support Noordeloos SERVE trips and other Noordeloos Ministries.

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

Update: We express our Christian Sympathies to Tom and Elaine Lucas in the passing of their brother-in-law, Glen Boerman, who went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 4. Pray for God’s comforting grace to be with Elaine’s sister, Marcia, as she mourns the loss of her husband. Pray also for the hope of the resurrection to be a comfort and strength to the Boerman and Lucas families in this sad time of loss.  The funeral service will be held on at 11 am today at Oakland Christian Reformed Church.

Update: We praise the Lord for the news Val Avink shares that Hurricane Irma passed by to the north of Haiti, and that Children of the Promise did not experience the full force of the storm.   We praise God for his protection of Val, the staff, and the children at COTP and for sparing them from the damages that the storm has caused in other places.  Please continue to pray for those who were impacted by Irma and for God’s protection of those who are preparing for the storm throughout the weekend.

We praise the Lord for the birthday that Gary Van Hill celebrated on Sunday. We praise the Lord for Gary and for the many years and good health he has enjoyed.   We pray for joy of Christ to be with Gary throughout the coming year.

We praise the Lord for the 52nd wedding anniversary that Dale and Marla Nienhuis celebrated on Sunday. We give thanks for the many years of marriage Dale and Marla have enjoyed and we pray for God to bless them with many more good years to come.

Please pray for Justin Vander Wal as he recovers from the surgery he had on Wednesday to fix the facial bones that were broken in the motorcycle accident.   We praise God for the news that the surgery went well and that Justin was able to come home last week. Pray for God to grant healing and strength to Justin so that he can make a speedy and complete recovery.

Please remember in prayer the members of our congregation who face Ongoing Health Concerns. There are many who must daily endure the weight of chronic conditions, emotional health struggles, and/or other sicknesses. Pray for God to be with each of them in their time of need so that they might find strength, hope, and peace in Him.

Please pray for God’s blessing upon the New Educational Year that we will be starting up again this month. Pray for God to be with all of our students and teachers who will be involved in the educational programs at Noordeloos. Pray for God to provide for the educational needs that are still remaining and for God to work through all of our programs so that our kids can learn to know Christ more.

Please pray for the Home Missions we support as a church. Pray for Jody Winstromand Teen Parent Resources as well as Barnabas Ministries as they both prepare to kick-off their Fall programs. Pray for God to work through these ministries so that the teenagers they minister to will come to know the love of Christ.
