Prayer updates for Monday, September 11, 2017

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

Update: We praise the Lord for the news that Cindy Haveman was released from The Inn at Freedom Village and has moved back to American House. Pray for God’s healing grace to continue to be with Cindy as she recovers from the fall she had a few weeks ago. Cindy has moved to a new room at American House, and so please also pray that she adjusts to her new surroundings.

We express our Christian Sympathies to Tom and Elaine Lucas in the passing of their brother-in-law, Glen Boerman, who went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 4. Pray for God’s comforting grace to be with Elaine’s sister, Marcia, as she mourns the loss of her husband. Pray also for the hope of the resurrection to be a comfort and strength to the Boerman and Lucas families in this sad time of loss.

We praise the Lord for the 55th wedding anniversary that Ken and Sharon Zeinstra will celebrate on Wednesday and the 51st wedding anniversary that Rich and Ann Nagelkerk will celebrate on Saturday. We give thanks to God for the many years of marriage he has given to the Zeinstras and Nagelkerks and we pray for God to bless them with many more good years to come.

We praise the Lord for the birthday that Cal Weener will celebrate on Saturday. We praise God for being with Cal throughout his life, and we pray for the Lord to bless him with good health and joy in the year to come.

We pray for God to be with John Nagelkerk and Hannah Halsey as they prepare to join their lives in marriage on Saturday, September 16.  Pray for God to bless their wedding day with joy as they begin their new life together as husband and wife.

As we remember in prayer the victims of the hurricane that hit Texas and Louisiana last week, please pray for those who were affected more recently by Hurricane Irma. We praise God for his protection of Val Avink along with the other Staff and Children of COTP in Haiti as the hurricane veered north of Haiti and did not cause significant problems for them.  Pray for God’s people to be as the hands and feet of Christ as communities come together to offer help and relief.

Please pray for the Elders Meeting that will take place tonight. Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide our Pastor and Elders in the care and leadership of the church.
