Prayer updates for Wednesday, October 25, 2017

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

We praise the Lord for the successful surgery that Jeff DeYoung, son of Ron and Elaine DeYoung, endured last week to remove three aneurysms from his aorta. After a long week, Jeff has been doing better over the past few days. His fever is down to near normal. Jeff is still very tired and sleeps a lot. His internal organs all seem to be working again. He will still be in the hospital for several days. His next hurdles are to regain strength and keep his pain managed. We praise God for the many answered prayer, for God’s watchful care, for Jeff’s progress, and for what appears to be a very good outcome after this major surgery. Please continue to pray for God to grant healing to Jeff in his time of recovery.

Please pray for Fred Zeeff as he prepares to begin radiation treatment for the tumor on his lung. Pray for the treatment to be effective in shrinking the mass and for it to improve Fred’s breathing troubles. Please pray for God to grant Fred the daily strength he needs to endure the radiation and for the Lord to surround Fred and Edna with daily reminders of his love and grace in this difficult time.

We praise the Lord for the successful knee replacement surgery that Carolyn Van Hill endured last week. We praise the Lord for the news that Carolyn was able to come home on Wednesday last week and is doing well. Pray for God’s healing grace to be on Carolyn and for God to provide her daily strength in her time of recovery.

As we bring Mission Emphasis Week to a close, please pray for our international missionaries: Fred and Ruth Beach—Reachout Ministries, Val Avink—Children of the Promise in Haiti, Steve and Kim Holtop—Nehemiah Center in Nicaragua, Randy and Sheryl Luth—International Teams in India, and Steve and Tanya Tiesenga—World Outreach Ministries in Uganda. Pray for God to provide for their needs and for our congregation to effectively partner with them in ministry.
