Prayer updates for Friday, January 19, 2018

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

Update: We express our Christian Sympathies to Karl and Von Tubergan in the passing of Karl’s father, Leonard Tubergan, who went home to be with the Lord this morning.  Pray for God’s comfort and love to surround Karl and Von in their time of loss.  Pray also for God to be with Corey and Heather De Vries and family as they mourn the passing of their grandpa and great-grandpa.  (Funeral arrangements are yet to be determined.)

Please pray for Alicia Vander Wal as she left yesterday to return to her work in The Gambia with the Peace Corps.  Pray for God to grant Alicia safe travels and for God to be with Alicia as she serves and helps the people in her community.  Pray also for the love of Christ to be the source of strength Alicia lives by  and the motive that drives her as she cares for those in need.

We praise God for the news that Clayton Rouwhorst, son of Jon and Jenn Rouwhorst, will endure surgery this coming Monday, January 22.  Clayton’s surgery for this week had been cancelled due to sickness.   Pray for God’s peace and presence to be with the Rouwhorsts as they prepare for Monday’s surgery.  Please pray for the surgery to be successful in correcting the problem that has been causing Clayton to suffer from silent aspiration.

We praise the Lord for the news that Greeta Keen, Gail Helm’s mother, was released from the hospital on Wednesday and for the news that she is doing much better.  Pray  for God to be with Greeta as she continues to recover and regain her strength.

We praise the Lord for the safe return for the students and leaders who attended Impact Retreat this weekend at Cran-Hill Ranch. Pray for God to use this retreat to deepen our young teens faith and love for Christ. Pray also that their time away would have been a great time of bonding with their peers and youth leaders

Please pray for the people under the care of Pastor Nate Bull and Forefront Ministry—Benton Harbor who are doing their best to endure this cold winter without access to heat in their homes. We praise God for the response of Christian love through the collection of warm blankets to send to Pastor Nate for distribution among the people in his community. Pray for each of these blankets to be a tangible expression of Christ’s love.

Please pray for the International Missionaries we support as a church and for the missions/ministries they represent. Please pray for Fred and Ruth Beach—Reachout Ministries, Val Avink—Children of the Promise in Haiti, Steve and Kim Holtop—Nehemiah Center in Nicaragua, Randy and Sheryl Luth—International Teams in India, and Steve and Tanya Tiesenga—World Outreach Ministries in Uganda. Pray for God to grant each of our missionaries safety and also for the message of the Gospel to be boldly proclaimed their words, deeds, and lives.
