Prayer updates for Saturday March 3, 2018

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

Update:  We express our Christian Sympathies to the Weener, Van Ommen, and Smeyers families in the passing of Austin Schrotenboer, who went home to be with the Lord on Thursday.  Austin is a brother-in-law to Cal Weener and Mary Van Ommen and the grandfather of Laura Smeyers.  Pray for God to comfort the families in this said time of loss.  Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-7 pm and the funeral service will be on Tuesday at 1pm, both at Graafschapp CRC.

Update: We praise the Lord for the news that Mark Weir, Gus and Jan Vander Veen’s son-in-law, was released from the hospital after being hospitalized for heart concerns. Tests showed Mark will still need endure a valve replacement/repair surgery which is scheduled for March 7.  Pray for the Lord’s loving presence to be a comfort and strength for Mark in this time of need and for the procedure to correct the problem with Mark’s heart.

Please pray for God to be with the SERVE Team in Manning, SC, as they finish up their work in this week. Pray also for God’s healing grace to be with some of the members of the team who are sick with the Norovirus. Pray for their symptoms to be alleviated before the long drive home this weekend.

We praise the Lord for the birthday that Doris Boss celebrated on Sunday, Earl Rotman celebrated on Tuesday, and Gus Vander Veen celebrated on Friday. Pray for God to be with each of them as they celebrate their birthdays this week and for the special days to be filled with many expressions of love from family and friends.

We praise the Lord for the 59th wedding anniversary that John and Arlene Kortman celebrated on Tuesday. We give thanks for the many years of marriage God has given to John and Arlene and we pray for the Lord to bless them with many more good years to come.

Please pray for Ruth Hulst, aunt of Lisa Scholtens and regular visitor at Noordeloos, as she was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Pray God’s comforting grace to be with Ruth and her husband, Ron, as they process this difficult diagnosis and explore treatment options.
