Prayer updates for Wednesday, April 11, 2018

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

Update:  We express our Christian Sympathies to Gary and Sandy Meeuwsen, Steve and Karin Meeuwsen and their family in the passing of Gary’s father, Howard Meeuwsen, who went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning.  Pray for God to surround the Meeuwsen family in this sad time of loss, even as they rejoice that Howard’s faith has now become sight in the presence of his Savior.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12th, from 6-8 pm at Dykstra Funeral Home Mulder Chapel (188 West 32nd St, Holland). The Funeral service will be at 11 am on Friday, April 13, at The Chapel at Central Wesleyan Church.

Update: Please pray for Fred Zeeff as he was in the emergency room last week being treated for intense facial pain, which the doctors believe is being caused by a painful nerve condition called trigeminal neuralgia. Pray for God to be with Fred as he waits to see a neurologist next week for further testing. Pray for God to provide Fred with relief from the pain as Fred and Edna wait for answers and a course of action for treatment.

Please pray for Ginny and Lauren Spahr as they are in Ethiopia this week visiting Kalkidan, Tim and Ginny’s adopted daughter, and hoping to finalize the adoption process. Pray for the final requirements for the VISA to be met so that Kalkidan can come home to her forever family. Most likely, the Spahrs will have to return in a few weeks to be able to bring Kalkidan home. Pray for God’s hands to be at work in this adoption process and, if possible, for it to to completed this week so that their daughter can come home with them sooner. Pray also for God to be with the Spars in this exciting time of transition in their family life.

We praise the Lord for the 65 years of marriage Ken and Ruth Knap celebrated on Monday. We give thanks for the many good years of marriage God has given to Ken and Ruth and we pray for the Lord bless them with His joy this week and in the year to come.

We praise the Lord for the news that Joy Morren shares that her father, Art Bouwkamp, is doing well after the surgery he endured last Wednesday to remove a brain tumor.  The surgeon was pleased with the surgery and believes he was able to remove all of the tumor.   Pray for God’s healing grace to be with Art as he was moved to Mary Free Bed for rehab and recovery from surgery. Pray for the biopsy results to show that the tumor is not cancerous.  May the love of Christ be an encouragement and strength to Art and his family in this time of waiting.
