Prayer updates for Monday, April 16, 2018

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

We express our Christian Sympathies to Gary and Sandy Meeuwsen, Steve and Karin Meeuwsen and their family in the passing of Gary’s father, Howard Meeuwsen, who went home to be with the Lord last Monday.  Pray for God to surround the Meeuwsen family in this sad time of loss, even as they rejoice that Howard’s faith has now become sight in the presence of his Savior.

Please pray for God to be with Curt Morren and Emilee Gebben as they prepare to join their lives in marriage on Friday, April 20. Pray for the final preparations to come together smoothly this week. Pray for the Lord to bless Curt and Emilee begin their life together as husband and wife.

Please pray for Fred Zeeff as he was taken to the emergency room a week ago because of intense facial pain, which the doctors believe is being caused by a painful nerve condition called trigeminal neuralgia. Pray for God to be with Fred as he waits to see a neurologist this week for further testing. Pray for God to provide Fred with relief from the pain as Fred and Edna wait for answers and a course of action for treatment.

Please pray for Larry De Groot as he endures back surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital on Tuesday. Pray for God to be with Larry and for a successful surgery. Pray for God’s healing grace to be upon Larry so that he can make a full recovery.

Please pray for the Council as they meet tonight. Pray for God to guide our Council and congregation as we continue working through the nomination process for the election of new Elders and Deacons. Pray also for God to stir our hearts as a congregation so that we will continually seek first His kingdom and righteousness as a church.

Urgent prayer request: Our brothers and sisters in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church request prayer for Andrew Brunson, one of their missionaries who began trial this morning in Izmir, Turkey. Andrew has been a missionary and church leader in Turkey for 23 years. He was arrested in 2016 under false charges of helping a terrorist organization. If convicted, Andrew could be sentenced to 35 years in prison.  Please for God to be with Andrew, encourage him, and strengthen his faith in this anxious time of need. Pray for God to deliver him from this injustice and pray for God to be glorified through Andrew’s witness to the powerful love of Christ.
