Prayer updates for Monday, May 1, 2017

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

We express our Christian Sympathies to Rich and Ann Nagelkerk in the loss of Ann’s sister, Louise Catowho passed away early Tuesday morning. Pray for God to comfort Ann, Rich, and their family in this sad time of loss. Pray also for the love of the Christian community to surround the Nagelkerks in a special way as there will not be a formal funeral service or time for family visitation.

We praise the Lord for the news that double bypass surgery Gus Vander Veen endured on Thursday went very well. Pray for God’s healing grace to be upon Gus as he will remain in the hospital in Wisconsin for at least another week in order to recover from the surgery.   Pray for Gus to regain his strength quickly so that Gus and Jan will be able to return home in the next few weeks.

Update: Please pray for Ken Van Woerkom as he remains at Zeeland Hospital being treated for a blood infection.   Ken started running a fever again last night, and so please pray for the infection to respond to the antibiotics. Pray for God to be with Ken and Arlene in this time of need so that Ken can make a speedy recovery.

Please pray for Decklynn Laarman, Sheryl Medendorp’s 3 month old great-granddaughter, as she will endure a skull surgery on Thursday to correct the skull plates that have prematurely fused together at birth. Pray for God’s protection for Decklynn and for the surgery to be successful. Pray for the peace of God that passes all understanding to be with Tyler and Shebly Laarman, Decklynn’s parents, as well as the rest of their family as they prepare for Decklynn’s surgery this week.

Please pray for the Elders Meeting that will take place tonight. Pray for God’s love to work through our Pastor and Elders as they provide spiritual and pastoral care to our congregation. Pray also for Christ to be exalted and glorified through the many ministries of the church.

Please pray for the Deacons meeting that will take place tonight.  Pray for God to guide the Deacons, especially as they work to prepare the budget proposal for next fiscal year.  Pray for God to be with our Deacons as they serve the church out of love for Christ.
