Prayer updates for Tuesday, January 2, 2018

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

We praise God for the beginning of a New Year and we pray for God’s provision and care to be with us throughout 2018. Pray for God to fill us with greater love for Jesus so that we might better show his love in and through our lives.

We praise the Lord for the birthday that Tony Kiekintveld will celebrate on Tuesday and that Bernie VanDenBerg will celebrate on Thursday. We give thanks for Tony and Bernie and pray for God to bless both of them with many expressions of love and care from family and friends as they celebrate their birthdays this week.

Please pray for the Elders meeting that will take place tonight. Pray for God to grant our Pastor and Elders the boldness to lead in love and truth so that God will be glorified in all that we do at Noordeloos Church.

Please pray for the Deacons as they meet tonight. Pray for God to encourage them as they serve others in love, as they care the the needs of our congregation, and as they help us to be good stewards of our resources.

Prayer updates for Wednesday, December 27, 2017

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

We praise the Lord for the 69th wedding anniversary that Gary and Carolyn Van Hill will celebrate on Saturday. As the Van Hills give thanks to God for His faithfulness throughout the years, pray for God’s blessing to be on them as they celebrate their special day and for God to fill them with His joy in the year to come.

We celebrate with Matt and Kari Nienhuis in the birth of a beautiful little girl, Ava Faith Nienhius (weighing 9 lbs 15oz and measuring 21 ¼ inches long), who was born on Tuesday, December 19. Pray for God to be with the Nienhuis family in this exciting time and for God to bless them with a smooth transition as they welcome Ava into their family.

We celebrate with Andy and Meg Luster-Bartz in the birth of a precious daughter, Grace Noelle Luster-Bartz (weighing 6 lbs and measuring 19 inches long), who was also born on Tuesday, December 19. Pray for God to surround the Luster-Bartz family with his love as they welcome Grace into their family and for God to bless them in this exciting time.

Prayer updates for Thursday, December 21, 2017

Reminder: Please join us in celebrating our Savior’s birth on Christmas morning as we gather for the Christmas Day Service on Monday at 9:30 am. Please also note the worship schedule for Sunday, December 24th. We will gather for worship on Sunday morning, the 4th Sunday in Advent, and will hear the message titled “The Sign of the Star” based on Matthew 2:1-12. Please note, however, that there will be no evening service this Sunday, December 24. It is our prayer that you will enjoy gathering with family as we prepare to celebrate our Savior’s birth on Christmas Day.

We celebrate with Matt and Kari Nienhuis in the birth of a beautiful little girl, Ava Faith Nienhius (weighing 9 lbs 15oz and measuring 21 ¼ inches long), who was welcomed in to the world on Tuesday night. We praise the Lord for a safe delivery and for the news that both mom and baby are doing well. Pray for God to be with the Nienhuis family in this exciting time and for God to bless them with a smooth transition as they welcome Ava into their family.

We give thanks to God for a safe and healthy delivery. Pray for God to surround the Luster-Bartz family with his love as they welcome Grace into their family and for God to bless them in this exciting time.

We give thanks to God for answered prayers for the Gerritsma family as Bradley Gerritsma was released from DeVos Children’s Hospital on Sunday night. We praise God for the news that Bradley has continued to feel a little better each day this week. Pray for God to be with Bradley and provide him the grace, strength, and help he needs to make a full recovery.

Please pray for safe travels for Alicia Vander Wal as she is returning home from The Gambia this week. Please continue to pray for Alicia as her two-year commitment with the Peace Corps has been completed, but also as Alicia has decided to sign on for another year working with the The Peace Corps and the National Nutrition Agency of The Gambia. Pray for God to bless Alicia with a great visit with family and friends for the short time she will be home and for the Lord to be with her as she prepares to continue her work in The Gambia after the first of the year.

We praise the Lord for the birthday that Ruth Knap will celebrate on Saturday. We give thanks for the many years God has given to Ruth and we pray for God to be with her a she celebrates her birthday this week.

Please pray for Lena Hanegraaff as the resent episode with her heart showed that Lena’s health is declining and it also seems to have progressed her memory troubles. Lena will likely be moving to a memory care unit in the couple of weeks. Pray for God to give wisdom to the family as they try to find the best way to care for Lena. Pray also for the Lord to grant Lena daily strength in her time of need.

Please be in prayer for all those at Noordeloos Church who mourn the loss of loved ones during the Holiday Season, or who struggle with seasonal depression at this time of year. Pray for God to comfort them and to remind them of the abiding presence and love of their Savior, Jesus Christ.

Prayer updates for Wednesday, December 20, 2017

Reminder:  Please join us for Family Night tonight.  Parents, please note that the GEMS will be meeting at church and will be leaving at 6:15 to Zeeland Rec for a swim party and will return to church by 8:00.  The Cadets will will be having a gym night at Borculo Christian School.  Please drop the boys off at Borculo at 6:00.  The boys will also return to church by 8:00 where you can pick them up.

Update:  Please pray for safe travels for Alicia Vander Wal as she is returning home from The Gambia this week.    Please continue to pray for Alicia as her two-year commitment with the Peace Corps has been completed, but also as Alicia has decided to sign on for another year working with the The Peace Corps and the National Nutrition Agency of The Gambia.  Pray for God to bless Alicia with a great visit with family and friends for the time that she will be able to be in town and for the Lord to be with her as she prepares to continue her work in The Gambia in January.

We give thanks to God for answered prayers for the Gerritsma family as Bradley Gerritsma was released from DeVos Children’s Hospital on Sunday night. Bradley was admitted to the hospital last Wednesday after a bout of sickness to led him to become very dehydrated, fatigued, and experience some temporary losses in cognitive functioning.  We praise God that Bradley made great progress over the weekend and seems to be on the road to recovery.  Pray for God to be with Bradley and provide him the grace, strength, and help he needs to make a full recovery.

Prayer updates for Monday, December 18, 2017

Update: We give thanks to God for answered prayers for the Gerritsma family as Bradley Gerritsma was released from DeVos Children’s Hospital on Sunday night. Bradley was admitted to the hospital last Wednesday after a bout of sickness to led him to become very dehydrated, fatigued, and experience some temporary losses in cognitive functioning.  We praise God that Bradley made great progress over the weekend and seems to be on the road to recovery.  Pray for God to be with Bradley and provide him the grace, strength, and help he needs to make a full recovery.

We express our Christian Sympathies to Ryan and Staci Visser and Ryan and Leah Ritsema in the passing of Staci and Ryan R’s grandmother, Norma Meeuwsen, who went home to be with the Lord last week. Please pray for the Lord to surround the family with His love and comfort them with the hope of Christ in this sad time of loss.

We praise the Lord for the birthday that Em Weener will celebrate on Friday. We give thanks for the many years God has given to Em and we pray for the Lord to bless her with His joy on her special day. We pray also for God to grant her good health in the year to come.

We praise the Lord for the wedding of Jon and Maryjo Visser, as they joined their lives in marriage on Friday, December 8.  We give thanks to God for this exciting time in Jon and Maryjo’s life and we pray for the Lord to bless them as they begin their new life together as husband and wife.

Please pray for Lena Hanegraaff as she was in the hospital last week because of a heart episode that caused her blood pressure and heart rate to drop.  Lena was released from the hospital and is temporarily back in her room at American House. The resent episode with her heart showed that Lena’s health is declining and it also seems to have progressed her memory troubles. Lena will likely be moving to a memory care unit in the next few weeks. Pray for God to give wisdom to the family as they try to find the best way to care for Lena. Pray also for the Lord to be with and comfort Lena in her declining mental and physical health.

We praise the Lord for the news that Kaylee Kouw shares that the MRI she endured last week shows no new growths or activity at the initial tumor site on her brain. The MRI did show one small enhancement in another location on the brain that the doctors will be monitoring with a follow-up MRI in six months. Pray for God to grant patience and peace to Kaylee and the Kouw family as they wait. Pray especially for the follow-up MRI to show no new growths and no reason for concern.

Prayer updates for Thursday, December 7, 2017

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

Update: We express our Christian Sympathies to Ryan and Staci Visser and Ryan and Leah Ritsema is the passing of Staci and Ryan R’s grandmother, Norma Meeuwsen, who went home to be with the Lord this week. Pray for the Lord to surround the family with his love and comfort them with the hope of Christ in this sad time of loss. The funeral service will be today at 2:00pm at Third CRC in Zeeland.

Update:  Please pray for Lena Hanegraaff as she was admitted to Holland Hospital on Wednesday after a heart episode and intense pain in her shoulder.  We praise the Lord for the news that the episode passed quickly and that Lena’s heart was stabilized and vital signs retuned to normal.  Pray for God to be with Lena as she continues to be monitored in the hospital and for Lord to grant her strength and peace in her time of need.

Please pray for Kaylee Kouw as she endures her annual MRI today. Pray for God’s loving presence to be with Kaylee on Thursday and for God to grant her peace as she prepares for the MRI. Please also for the results from Thursday’s scan to show no new growths at the tumor site. Pray for God to grace the Kouw family with His peace and firm faith while they wait for the results.

Flora Mae Kapenga celebrated on Tuesday. We give thanks for Flora Mae and we pray that she will be showered with the love of family and friends on her special day and throughout the week.

Please pray for God to bless Jon Visser and Maryjo Moelker as they join their lives in marriage on Friday, December 8.  We give thanks to God for this exciting time in Jon and Mary Jo’s life and we pray for the Lord to bless them as they begin their new life together as husband and wife.

Fred Zeeff completed his radiation treatments last week.   Pray for God to be with Fred as he recovers from the treatments and for the radiation to be effective in shrinking the tumor on Fred’s lung. It will take up to six months for the doctors to know of the treatment was effective. Pray for God’s loving presence to be Fred and Edna’s refuge  and strength in this time of waiting.

We praise the Lord for successful back surgery that Sally Kiekintveld, Tony and Hazel Kiekintveld’s daughter-in-law, endured last Friday. Pray for the Lord to grant strength and healing to Sally for her time of recovery after the surgery.

Update: Please pray for Kaylee Kouw as she endures her annual MRI on Thursday morning. Pray for God’s loving presence to be with Kaylee on Thursday and for God to grant her peace as she prepares for the MRI. Please also for the results from Thursday’s scan to show no new growths at the tumor site. Pray for God to grace the Kouw family with His peace and firm faith while they wait for the results.

Pray also for the Lord to comfort those for whom this season is difficult because of the absence of loved ones who are away from home or who have passed away. May God’s unfailing promises be our means of experiencing the hope, peace, love, and joy we have in Christ this Christmas!
