Prayer updates for Tuesday, January 12, 2016

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

Update: We praise God for the good report that Sara DePoy received this morning that her blood work came back looking normal and for the good news that the doctors feel the infection is on its way out. Please pray God to continue his work of healing so that Sara can make a full recovery and for God give the strength and rest that Pastor Jonathan and Sara need in this time of waiting.

Update: Please pray for Brent Vander Zwaag he was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy. Pray for the symptoms to be temporary and for the treatment to be effective so that Brent can make a full recovery.

Please pray for Gord Vork as he was admitted to Holland Hospital on Friday and is being treated for an infection.  Pray for the antibiotics to clear up infection that is making him so sick.  Pray also for God to be with Gord as he receives the treatment he needs so that he can make a full recovery.

We express our Christian Sympathies to Stan and Becky Vander Pol and their family in the loss of Becky’s grandmother, Thelma Durian, who went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 6. Please pray for God to comfort the Vander Pol family in this sad time of loss.

Please pray for Val Avink as she will be returning on Sunday, January 17, to Children of the Promise in Haiti. We give thanks for the time that Val has been able to spend reconnecting with family and friends. Pray for safe travels and continued good health as she transitions back to life in Haiti.

Please be in prayer for the Haiti SERVE Team as they make preparations for the upcoming SERVE trip in March. Pray that God will be at work in and through the lives of the team members so that Christ will be exalted and the love of God will be displayed.

Prayer Updates for Monday, January 11, 2016

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

Update: Please pray for Sara DePoy as she endured an operation on Sunday due to complications with her hysterectomy. We give thanks that the operation went well and that they were able to correct the problem. Please continue to pray for Sara as she recovers and for her infection not to spread as a result of the surgery. Pray for God to continue to strengthen and sustain Pastor Jonathan, Sara, and their family in this difficult time of need.

Please pray for Val Avink as she will be in Michigan for another week before returning to Children of the Promise in Haiti on January 17th. We give thanks for the time that Val has been able to spend reconnecting with family and friends. Pray for safe travels and continued good health as she transitions back to life in Haiti.

Please be in prayer for the Haiti SERVE Team as they make preparations for the upcoming SERVE trip in March. Pray that God will be at work in and through the lives of the team members so that Christ will be exalted and the love of God will be displayed.

Prayer updates for Friday, January, 8, 2016

Please keep the following prayer request in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

Update:  We praise God for the news that the hysterectomy Sara DePoy endured on Thursday went well and that the doctors feel confident that they were able to remove the source of the Group A Strep infection.  Please continue to pray fervently for Sara as she will be under close observation for the next couple of days for any remaining signs of infection. Pray for test results to show that the infection was contained in the uterus and has not spread to other parts of her body.  We give thanks to God for the faithfulness he has shown to Sara and Pastor Jonathan in this difficult time and we continue to pray for his healing grace to be upon Sara.

On Sunday we gather for worship and for the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. In the morning service we will hear the message, “The ‘Heart’ of Giving, based on 2 Corinthians 8:1-15.  After the message, we will once again come to the table of the Lord and as we remember the forgiveness of Christ through the Lord’s Supper.  In the evening service we will continue our study of the Gospel of Mark with the message titled “Lord, Help My Unbelief!” based on Mark 9:14-32.  As we prepare to gather for worship pray that God will work in our hearts and lives so that we can be changed to be more like Christ.

Prayer Updates for Thursday, January 7, 2016

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

Update: Please pray for Sara DePoy as she has developed a fever during the night indicating that her infection remains and as she will endure an emergency hysterectomy at 2:00 PM today. Pray that the infection is contained in the uterus and that the surgery will effectively remove the source of the infection. Pray for God’s healing hands to be upon Sara as she recovers from the surgery and for no further infection to be present. Pray for God’s loving presence to be on Pastor Jonathan, Sara, and their family and grant them strength in this difficult time of need.

Prayer updates for Tuesday, January 5, 2016

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

We praise the Lord for the 82nd birthday that Bernie VanDenBerg celebrates today. We praise the Lord for His faithfulness to Bernie throughout the years and pray for the Lord to bless Bernie with a special day filled with friends and family.

We celebrate with Pastor Jonathan and Sara DePoy in the birth of a baby girl, Eleanor Mary DePoy (6 lbs 12 oz), who was born on Wednesday, December 30. We praise God for a safe delivery and the gift of new life. Pray for the DePoy family as they transition to a family of seven.

Update: Please pray for Sara DePoy as she remains at Holland Hospital recovering from a postpartum infection. Pray for God’s healing touch to be upon Sara as tests results revealed that the infection was also in her bloodstream. We praise the Lord that Sara is improving each day and her body is responding positively to the antibiotics. Pray for God’s loving presence to be with the DePoys as Sara recovers in the hospital and as they also care for their newborn baby.

Please pray for Austin Morren as he recovers from the ulcers he had over the Christmas weekend. We praise the Lord that Austin is now home! Pray for a quick and full recovery so that Austin can continue his normal daily routine.

Please pray for God to be with Kevin and Sarah Mokma and their children as they returned on Monday to Children of the Promise and as they transition back to their role as house parents. We give thanks for the time that the Mokmas could spend in Michigan with family and friends. Pray for God to bless them this year in the work he has called them to do in Haiti and for God to use the Mokmas to share the love of Jesus with the children who are in their care.

Please pray for Val Avink as she enjoys a time of respite from her work at Children of the Promise in Haiti. We give thanks for the opportunity she has to reconnect with family and friends over the next couple of weeks and pray for God to bless Val with much encouragement and rest.

Please pray for Keith Nienhuis, Dale and Marla’s son, as today he begins the stem cell treatment for his MS.  Pray for the treatment to be effective in halting the progress of his MS and God’s peace to be with the Nienhuis Family in this time of need.

Please pray for Austin Morren as he recovers from the ulcers he had over the Christmas weekend. We praise the Lord that Austin is now home! Pray for a quick and full recovery so that Austin can continue his normal daily routine.

On Friday we gather for our Christmas Day Service at 9:30 a.m. Please pray for God to prepare our hearts as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. Come and worship Christ as we hear a Christmas message titled Jesus, Our Immanuel, based on Matthew 1:18-25. Let us also remember each other in prayer as many will be traveling on the days surrounding Christmas. Pray for good health so that we can enjoy the celebration of Christ’s birth with our family and friends on Christmas Day.

We praise the Lord for the 84th birthday that Ruth Knap celebrated on Wednesday. We give thanks to God for the many good years that God has given to Ruth and pray for the Lord to bless her with many more good years to come.

We praise the Lord for the 84th birthday that Ruth Knap celebrates today. We give thanks to God for the many good years that God has given to Ruth and pray for the Lord to bless her with many more good years to come.

We praise the Lord for successful skin cancer surgery that Wayne Breuker endured last week to remove some cancerous cells from his leg. Pray for God to grant Wayne with a quick recovery from the surgery and for the biopsy results to show no need for further treatment.

Please pray for Keith Nienhuis, Dale and Marla’s son, as today he completes his medical tests in Chicago and returns home.  Pray for God to be with Keith and Nikki as Keith prepares for the stem cell treatment that will begin on January 5.  Pray for God’s peace to be with the Nienhuis’ in this time of waiting.

Please pray for Val Avink as she will be traveling home this week for a short visit. Pray for God to grant Val safe traveling mercies and for her time at home to be encouraging and renewing.

Please pray for us to be prepared celebrate the birth of our Savior on Christmas Day. Let us also remember in prayer those that will be traveling on the days surrounding Christmas. Pray also for good health so that we can enjoy the celebration of Christ’s birth with our families this week.
