Prayer updates for Thursday, September 1, 2016

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

Update: We express our Christian Sympathies to Phyllis Nyboer in the passing of Junior Nyboer, who went home to be with the Lord this morning.  We mourn for our loss, but we know that Junior is rejoicing in the presence of his Lord and Savior.  Pray for God to comfort and strengthen Phyllis and her children with his loving presence in this sad time of loss.

We express our Christian Sympathies to Ken and Sharon Zeinstra in the passing of Gary Blok, husband of Ken’s niece, who went home to be with the Lord after a tragic construction accident. Pray for God to be with Ken’s niece, Pam, and her children as they mourn the loss of a beloved husband and father. Pray for the hope of eternal life in Christ to uphold the Blok and Zeinstra Families in the sad time of loss.

We praise the Lord for the birthday that Gary Van Hill will celebrate on Saturday. We praise the Lord for the many years he has given to Gary and we pray for continued good health and God’s blessing in the year to come.

We praise the Lord for the 54th wedding anniversary that Tim and Shirley Brown celebrated on Wednesday and the 51st wedding anniversary that Dale and Marla Nienhuis will celebrate on Saturday. We give thanks to the Lord for the love that they share and we pray for God to bless the Browns and the Nienhius’ on their special days.

We praise the Lord that Val Avink has returned home safely from Haiti for a three-week visit and respite from her work at Children of the Promise. Pray for God to be with Val as she transitions back to West Michigan and for her time at home of reconnecting with family and friends to be an encouragement to her.

Please pray for Melinda Hamstra, Sean Hamstra’s mother, as she is appears to be nearing the end of her battle with an aggressive melanoma and is preparing to meet the Lord. Pray for God’s loving presence to comfort Sean, Kateyln, and the Hamstra family in this time of need. Pray for Jack and Dawn Redder as they also show love and support to their daughter and son-in-law, Katelyn and Sean, in this difficult time.

Please pray for Gene Sal, Lorraine Mokma’s brother, as his health continues to decline as a result of the ALS he has. Pray for God’s loving presence to be a daily strength for Gene and his family in this difficult time of need.

Please pray for God’s blessing upon the New Educational Year that we will be starting up again September. Pray for God to be with all of our students and teachers who will be involved in the educational programs at Noordeloos. Pray for God to provide for the educational needs that are still remaining and for God to work through all of our programs so that our kids can learn to know Christ more.

Please pray for the Campus Ministries at GVSU and WMU as they prepare to begin a new year of ministry to college students. Pray for God to be Rev. Scott Stark as he works with the campus ministry at GVSU and with Rev. Ron De Young as he works with Bronco Campus Ministry at WMU. Pray for the love of Christ to be known and shown through the ministry that will take place on these campuses this year.

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

We express our Christian Sympathies to Ken and Sharon Zeinstra in the passing of Gary Blok, husband of Ken’s niece, who went home to be with the Lord after a tragic construction accident. Pray for God to be with Ken’s niece, Pam, and her children as they mourn the loss of a beloved husband and father. Pray for the hope of eternal life in Christ to uphold the Blok and Zeinstra Families in the sad time of loss.  Funeral service will be held Wednesday August 31, 11:00 AM at Ada Christian Reformed Church.

We praise the Lord for the birthday that Gary Van Hill will celebrate on Saturday. We praise the Lord for the many years he has given to Gary and we pray for continued good health and God’s blessing in the year to come.

Update: Please pray for Val Avink as she will be traveling today from Haiti back to the U.S. Pray for safe travels and for a smooth transition back to life in West Michigan as she will home visiting for the next 3-4 weeks. Pray for Val’s time with family and friends to be recharging and encouraging.

We express our Christian Sympathies to the Van Der Kolk Family in the passing of Elmer Van Der Kolk, who went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 14th. Pray for the comfort and hope of Christ to be with Elmer’s family and friends as they mourn his loss and as they rejoice that Elmer is now at home with his Lord and Savior.

We praise the Lord for the news that the surgery Ruth Beach endured last Monday went well and that they were able to break up the kidney stone. Pray for God’s healing grace to be with Ruth so that the pain will subside quickly and she can make a full recovery.

We praise the Lord for the safe arrival of the Mokmas as they returned to Haiti on Tuesday.  Pray for a smooth transition back to life in Haiti as Kevin and Sarah continue their work as house parents at Children of the Promise. Pray for God to strengthen the Mokmas with his love and for the adoptions they are overseeing to move quickly toward completion.

Please pray for our College Students as they will be heading off to college over the next few weeks, and especially for those who are just beginning their college career. Pray for God to use this time in our students’ lives to deepen their faith in Jesus. Pray for God to surround them with many Christian friends and a church community where they can find support and encouragement while away from home.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday at Noordeloos CRC.

We praise the Lord for being with David Nagelkerk as he underwent shoulder surgery on Thursday and for news that the surgery went very well. Pray for God to be with Dave as he recovers and for the procedure to have been successful in correcting the problem with his shoulder.

We praise the Lord for the safe return of Fred Beach from Guatemala as he led a team of 12 people on a mission trip from August 3-12.   Pray for God to continue to water the seeds of Gospel ministry that were planted in the hearts children and families they interacted with in Guatemala. Pray for God to continue to guide Fred and Ruth and the work they do through Reachout Ministries.

We praise the Lord for being with David Nagelkerk as he underwent shoulder surgery on Thursday. Pray for God to be with Dave as he recovers from the surgery and for the procedure to have been successful in correcting the problem with his shoulder.

We praise the Lord for the safe return of Fred Beach from Guatemala as he led a team of 12 people on a mission trip from August 3-12.   Pray for God to continue to water the seeds of Gospel ministry that were planted in the hearts children and families they interacted with in Guatemala. Prayer updates for Wednesday, August 10, 2016

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today:

Update: Please pray for Tim Hoffman, John and Joy Morren’s nephew, as he remains at Butterworth Hospital after suffering a serious head injury in an automobile accident while on duty as a paramedic. We praise God for sparing Tim’s life and pray for God’s healing grace to be with Tim.  Pray especially for God to protect and bring healing to Tim’s brain as he endured significant head injures in the accident.

We praise the Lord for the successful surgery that Brenda Molendyk endured on Monday to remove a growth on her skull. We thank the Lord that the tests came back negative – the growth was benign! Please pray for Brenda to make a full recovery from this surgery.

Please pray for Fred Beach as he left on a mission trip to Guatemala on Wednesday. He will be leading a team of 12 people and will be gone Aug. 3-12. Please pray for safe travels and for God to work through the team as they build relationships and work with the children and families in Guatemala.

Please pray for Ruth Beach as she is suffering from a kidney stone. After consulting the doctor, it was decided that Ruth would stay home from the mission trip to Guatemala. Please pray for her pain to subside and for her condition to remain stable until Fred returns.

Please pray for Kim Zeinstra as she will be departing for Minnesota on Thursday to begin her year of missions and outreach with CTI Music Ministries. Pray for God to be with Kim and provide for her needs as she travels and as she uses her gifts to tell other about Christ. Pray for God to bless the work of CTI and the teams Kim will be working with so that many will come know of God’s grace in Christ.

Please pray for David Nagelkerk as he undergoes shoulder surgery on Thursday. Pray for the surgery to be successful in eliminating the source of pain and for a complete recovery.

Please pray for our 4th-8th graders who will be attending South Olive Bible Camp that began on Saturday (August 6-13).
