Prayer updates for Monday, August 10, 2015

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before God in prayer today.

Our Christian sympathies are expressed to Gus and Jan Vander Veen as they mourn the loss of Gus’ brother, John Vander Veen, who passed away on Wednesday, August 5. Please pray for God’s grace to guide the Vander Veen family in their time of grief.

We praise the Lord for the Rain we received this morning and we pray for God to continue to provide the water our farmers need for healthy crops. Pray also for God to grant our Farmers with peace in their time of waiting for the Lord’s provision.

We praise the Lord for the news that Dan Canales is recovering well from his upper respiratory infection. Pray for God to be with Dan and Donna in this time of sickness and for God to grant continued healing and strength to Dan so that he can make a full recovery.

Update: Please pray for Yvonne Vanden Berg as she remains at Holland Hospital recovering from a hernia surgery. We praise the Lord that the surgery went well and that Yvonne is doing well. Pray for God to bless Von with a full and quick recovery.

Please pray Vacation Bible School this week. Pray for God to bless us with many children to witness to and for the teachers to build meaningful and lasting relationships with the VBS students. Above all, pray for children to place their faith in Christ this week and make a commitment to follow Jesus with all their hearts.

Please pray for our students and their teachers as they prepare to go Back to School. Pray that the summer break was refreshing for them and that God will bless this year of learning.

Prayer updates for Friday, August 7, 2015

Please keep these prayer requests in mind as you come before the Lord in prayer today.

Update: Please pray for Von Vanden Berg as she had hernia surgery last night.  We praise the Lord that the surgery went well and that Von is doing well.  Pray for God to bless Von with a full and quick recovery.

Update: We praise the Lord that Gerrit Kortman has returned home from Holland Hospital.  Pray that his medication will work to keep his blood pressure from getting too low and pray for God to grace Gerrit with strength in his time of recovery.  Pray also for JoAnne as she cares for Gerrit in his time of need.

Please pray the final planning and preparation of Vacation Bible School as it will begin next week Monday (August 10). Pray that God will bless the fruit of our labor and bring many children from the community to our VBS program so that they can hear the Gospel message of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

On Sunday we gather for worship once again.   In the morning service we will continue in our series “Psalms For all Seasons” and Pastor Matt will preach a sermon from Psalm 10 with the sermon title “The Prayer of the Afflicted”.  In the evening service we will continue in our series “Paul: Man on a Mission” and Pastor Matt will preach a sermon titled “Transformational Ministry” and his text of focus will be Acts 19:1-20.  As we prepare to gather for worship pray that God will work in our hearts and lives so that we can be changed to be more like Christ.

Pray for God to give Gerrit strength and more energy in his time of recovery and for the doctors to find the right combination of medication to help get his blood pressure to where it needs to be. Pray also for JoAnne as she cares for Gerrit in his time of need.

Please pray for Gerrit Kortman as he is at Holland Hospital with low blood pressure. Pray for the doctors to find the right medication to get his blood pressure to where it needs to be and for God to grant Gerrit strength in his time of need.

We praise the Lord for the 91st birthday that Cindy Haveman celebrated on Sunday. We give thanks to the Lord for His grace and faithfulness to Cindy through the years and we pray for God to bless her with a special day filled with friends and family.

Pray for God to be with Karen as she endures tests and as the doctors determine possible treatment options. On Sunday we gather for worship once again. Pastor Jonathan will be leading us in worship in both the morning and the evening services. In the morning service we will continue in our series “Psalms For all Seasons” and will study a Psalm of Lament looking at Psalm 102 with the sermon title “Open Canvas”. In the evening service we will discuss how to discern God’s Will in your life. The text of focus is Romans 12:1-2 and the title of the sermon is “Discerning God’s Good, Pleasing, and Perfect Will”. As we prepare to gather for worship pray that God will work in our hearts and lives so that we can be changed to be more like Christ.

Prayer updates for Thursday, July 23, 2015

Update: We express our Christian Sympathies to Ade and Bea Molendyk in the loss of Bea’s sister-in law, Myrna Landheer, who was in the hospital with some heart troubles and passed away on Monday night. Pray for God to be with Ade, Bea, and their family and for the comfort of Christ’s promises to sustain them in this sad time of loss. The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 539 E. Pine Street, Fremont, MI. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM at the at the church prior to the service.

We express our Christian Sympathies to Ken and Sharon Machiela in the passing of Sharon’s mother, Rena Petroelje, who went home to be with Lord on Tuesday, July 14. Pray for God to comfort the Petroelje family in this sad time of loss. A Memorial service will be held at Noordeloos CRC on Saturday, July 25 at 11:00 AM and a time of visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.

We praise the Lord for the 53rd anniversary that Cal and Mary Van Ommen celebrated on Tuesday. We give thanks for the many years that Cal and Mary have shared together and pray for God to bless them with many more good years to come.

We praise the Lord for the 88th birthday that Gerald Ortman celebrates today. We give thanks for Gerald and pray for God to bless Gerald with many birthday wishes from family and friends.

Please pray for the Local SERVE Event with Barnabas Ministries that will begin this week from July 22-25. Pray for God to be with the volunteers who will be working at the equestrian farm and for this service opportunity to show the love of Christ in a tangible way.
